Rural palliative care

We have addressed the specific palliative care needs in rural and remote Western Australia in the Rural Palliative Care Model in Western Australia (PDF 410KB), endorsed by State Health Executive Forum in November 2008.

We worked collaboratively with rural clinicians and obtained information from the Rural Audit (PDF 364KB), the rural regions and from visiting palliative care medical specialists to develop this model.

Comprehensive palliative care services will be implemented across each of the seven rural regions, by the Network working with the WA Country Health Service.
