WA Premier’s Awards 2008

We are delighted to announce that WA Health Networks were one of three finalists in the “Improving Government” category of the Premier’s Awards 2008.

This category recognises outstanding achievement towards strengthening the systems of the Western Australian Government and maintaining a skilled, diverse and ethical public sector that serves Western Australians.

Health was well represented amongst the finalists and winners with King Edward’s Memorial Hospital PREM Bank (a human milk bank) winning the “Creating a healthy, safe and vibrant WA” category and the University of Western Australia Rural Clinical School winning the “Creating jobs and economic prosperity” category as well as being shortlised for the “Strengthening regional WA” category.

Overall, there were 70 nominations across five award categories. We are delighted that the work of over 2,000 people who are involved in Health Networks has been recognised across Government in this way.

We look forward to building on the achievements of Health Networks to date and continuing to work with consumers, clinicians, carers and others to improve the health of all Western Australians.
