Health Networks and their Leads
Health Networks are part of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer which is led by Dr Simon Towler. Each Health Network is led by one or two leads and a small advisory group. Support is provided by the Health Networks Branch or the individual agencies in the areas of Aged Care, Cancer and Palliative Care and Genomics.

Dr Simon Towler was appointed to the position of Western Australia’s Chief Medical Officer in 2005. Dr Towler has a passion for health reform to meet the ever-increasing demands our health system faces. Dr Towler also continues to practice part time as an Intensivist in the Intensive Care Units of Royal Perth Hospital, St John of God’s Hospital (Subiaco) and the Mount Hospital. |

Kate is A/Area Director Population Health for the Western Australia Country Health Service (WACHS), providing strategic leadership and program management services, she is also responsible for the over sight of the Child and Community Health programs. Prior to this Kate was the Director, of Population Health, providing management and leadership for the WACHS – Wheatbelt. |

Dr Hurley is an endocrinologist at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) and in private practice. Prior to taking up the position of Network Lead for the Diabetes and Endocrine Health Network, he served for ten years as the Director of RPH’s Division of Medical Specialities.
