Prof Ian Hammond

Prof Ian HammondProfesor Hammond graduated from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, London in 1972 and migrated to Perth in 1973. He is a Certified Subspecialist in Gynaecologic Oncology and since 1984 has been working at the WA Gynaecologic Cancer Service based at King Edward Memorial Hospital and St John of God Hospital, Subiaco. He is a Clinical Professor in the School of Women’s and Infants’ Health and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Anatomy and Human Biology at UWA. For the last 4 years he has been Director of Gynaecology at KEMH.

He has interests in surgical education, psycho-oncology and communication and holds a Practitioner’s Certificate in mediation. He has been involved in numerous local and national committees in all areas of gynaecologic oncology. He is currently a Member of the Council of the RANZCOG and a Member of the National Working Group on Gynaecological Cancers, Cancer Australia.
