Respiratory Health Network

Clinical Prof. Stephen Stick

Prof. Stephen StickClinical Professor Stephen Stick graduated from Cambridge University and completed his paediatric training in the UK before moving to Perth in 1987. Stephen worked for six years as a Fellow in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) where he also completed his PhD.

Stephen established the sleep laboratory at PMH in 1993 and became head of the respiratory department in 1998. The sleep and respiratory laboratories at PMH were the first paediatric laboratories in Australia to receive accreditation, reflecting a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Stephen is a NHMRC Practitioner Fellow with research interests in translational aspects of respiratory and sleep physiology in children and epithelial function.

Stephen is a Clinical Prof. in the School of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Western Australia where he developed and directs two graduate certificate courses in Paediatric Respiratory Science and Paediatric Sleep Science.

Stephen believes in universal access to high quality health care. He intends that the Respiratory Health Network will help develop better strategies to deliver sustainable patient-centred care with an emphasis on effective management of transition between health care providers.
