How Health Networks are Structured
Each Health Network is led by one or two clinical leads and a small advisory group. Support is provided by the Health Networks Branch or the individual agencies in the areas of Aged Care, Cancer and Palliative Care, Mental Health and Genetics.
Network leads
Network Leads are people with appropriate clinical qualifications as well as a record of achievement in management. In late 2007 clinical leads were appointed for the majority of Networks for a term of two years.
Membership
Each network is supported by a small executive advisory group to assist in the leadership and coordination of the Network. Membership is drawn from key stakeholders and clinical experts from within Western Australia including consumer representation. Each Network also has time specific reference groups working on specific projects that report to the advisory group.
Network membership is multi sectoral and multi-disciplinary and includes representation from consumer organisations as well as health professionals, researchers and academics and relevant non Government organisations. Not all will be active members in the sense of attending meetings on a regular basis; however, it is critical that all members are supportive of their network's principles and expected outcomes.
